Da Stinky Mut

Our good friends Andreas and Elena are off on their summer holiday, and being the good guy I am, I offered my dog sitting services to them. So on Saturday afternoon the little pleasure called Pegas arrived. She had all of her belongings with her, bed, toys, food, bowl, and blanket. So she would feel right at home, after a crazy half hour of just running around in our apartment, she finally calmed down. Well the rest of the week was an interesting one never having owned a dog before or had a pet live in an apartment this was quite educational. Now my friends in the UK and family have dogs and they don't require much looking after, but I can tell you this was not the case with Pegas, ph my god what a baby, it needed everything doing for it. When entering the door you must play with her throwing her favourite toys at least 3 times, then because its so hot and humid here in China, she is thirsty from the running so I fetch her some water, the problem is that hen I get up at 7:00am to take her for her walk and once again at 10:oopm she will not go to the loo outside, oh no this lady is to posh for that, and waits until your inside. As soon as some newspaper goes on the floor, she’s there letting rip, fanbloddytastic.
This is not to mention when ever you walk somewhere she follows you, although we did manage to set some rules like she wasn't allowed to follow you in the bathroom, but still its a little distracting when your on the toilet and there’s a small dog trying to peer in through the vent at the bottom of the door. This however was not really to much trouble, the problem came about half way through her stay, when this very strange smell arose and took over my apartment, yes Pegas was one stinky dog, not surprising if you lick you own ass for an hour, then try to kiss your owner urggghhhh nasty.I must admit I would still like to have a dog, but let me tell you don’t have a small one and certainly don't have 0ne if you live in an apartment on the 6th floor, its just don’t work.

Happiest Day Of My Life

That’s right folks I finally asked Julia to marry me, I have know for a long time that Julia is the love of my life and the girl that I wanted to spend all my days with. But arranging a surprise engagement was a nightmare.
Location now that was easy, I wanted to have all my friends around and share this with them, so my friend Darren offered me a room in his pub, our local pub as well, so it was very homely. Now were onto invitations, ok Julia’s birthday was on the 28th June so i could combine it with that and use her birthday as the front for the engagement. I designed a really cool party flyer as you can see, ahh Kung Fu....
How getting the ring and making sure it was the right size was a completely different matter, ring size first, Julia and i were messing around on the sofa while watching TV one night, and she was saying how her hand were as big as mine (there not), this gave me the opportunity to get her finger size and match it to one of mine, I know sneaky but when needs must. So having the finger size, I had to buy a ring, now living In GuangZhou China, this isn't the place to buy a nice ring and know the quality is good, so off to Hong Kong I must go. Now getting down to HK for 2 day would be the next challenge if I go normally its only for 1 day, a plan had to be formulated. Now I am no way proud of this but I had to tell a little white lie for the greater good, 'I'm have to go to HK for business luv, and see my accountant will be there 2 days' now after some discussion it was ok.
Once in HK I hit every jewelry store in Kowloon and i can tell you after looking at diamond rings al day they soon start to look the same, it was very difficult to a platinum diamond ring and all seemed to be white gold. Well the 1st day had gone and nothing yet, some nice rings but wasn't sure and the attitude of some staff members left a lot to be desired.
So off I went for some food and to work out my next move. I headed down to one of my favorite little eating places, as I was walking down the road past all the nice shops, just as I came to the shopping centre where I was going to eat, I saw a nice jewelry shop ‘Chow Sang Sang’ now this was more like it a very classy shop and huge amounts of choice, but it was closing. I got a quick look through the window and saw three rings I liked, this would be my first stop tomorrow morning.
Bright and early the next day after having my cappuccino and doughnut, I headed back down to that shop, now bearing in mind I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, it was very hot in HK, and this shop is quite posh, I got amazing service, I was in there for nearly the whole morning looking at all the rings and then comparing them against each other, the young man helping me was a good lad and very patient, I finally got down to 3 rings, all very beautiful, how to decide I had already gone over my original budget but this is once on a lifetime and I wanted it to be perfect, I finally choose the DTI certified diamond single solitare with a perfect diamonds and hearts cut, and excellent color and clarity, it also had a platinum band, this was the one, I handed over my card and we were done.
Time to go home and hide it, in an old suitcase I think she’ll never look there.
Now onto the party night, we had arranged all our friends to be there for Julia’s birthday party and there was plenty of wine and beer, music and dancing, it was all good, now Darren had arranged a cake and champagne and at 12 o’clock I went out to get a cake, light the candles and make a dramatic entrance, so there we were trying to light the dam candle and keep the from going out as we walked into the next room, my mate Ben had go Julia to make sure she came to the front of the crowd, we all sand the usual ‘happy birthday’ song and then as she was just getting over that, her face was in shock, I said ‘now most of you know were here to celebrate my darling Julia’s birthday, but what you and she doesn’t know is, that there is one more surprise, Julia I love you so so much and you make me happier than I could ever imagine, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, (getting down on one knee now) Julia will you marry me?’ Now this is where its a little worrying, she didn’t say anything just stood there star struck, and in surprise, we what seemed like ages for me, she finally came too and said ‘yes’.
Champagne was opened and congratulations were coming from all sides, strange how you get congratulated individually also, normally boys to boys and girls to girls….. Well after that the party really got going and we ended up getting in at 5:00am a first for Julia.

Big Boss Man Get's A Lap Dance

Yet another one of those party nights at my friends house Andreas & Elaina, now these guy’s are from Ecuador, and they know how to party. This was going to be a small social night with Thomas, Irene, Nicholas and Ofer, or so I thought. The evening started off the usual way, some drinks and chatting, what have you been doing this week, how’s work and so on, you know the sort of thing.
Then came out the food, steaming its way from the kitchen from master chef Andreas was a delicious selection of fillings for out tortillas, chicken, beef, mixed veg oh it was so so good, not a Chinese spring roll or chopstick in sight. Well after gorging ourselves till were felt sick, it was time for some fun and games, this has become somewhat of a tradition now at our gatherings, all involving a hefty amount of drink.
We start playing truth or dare, which results in a lot of dares mostly involving making an idiot of yourself followed by downing a lethal concoction of alcohol.Well I had done my turn and kissed the dog, but we won’t go into that, so the game comes around to my darling Julia, and yes she got a dare. After some thought from the rest of the crowd they decided she was to give ‘Da Boss’ me..lol.. a lap dance, (after we had explained what one was…ahhhh so sweet & innocent) so with me puffing away on my Cuban cigar Julia, did a sexy little dance for me, she was a good sport and we all salute her, you go girl.

June's a Slow Month

After a very slow June, it was finally time for celebration, yes yet another Chinese National Holiday, May Day and what do we get well we get 7 days off. Though it turned out not to be quite as good as it sounds. Having been working my tiny bootie off with the new company, my own dear firm had slipped by the wayside, something had to be done and this was just the time to do it. So I ended up spending the majority of my holiday, sitting in front of a computer working away, this did have significant benefits though as my companies new website was finished and a new client gained. I did manage to get out a couple of times though, and spend some time with my girlfriend, (if I hadn't I think I would have been sleeping on the sofa). We had some great weather and some god dam awful weather, but when it wasn’t pouring down it was very nice and we went to the park and to the zoo.

Zoooooooolandeeeeer

Now this was my first experience of going to a Chinese Zoo, I had been in Beijing but only saw the aquatic centre, which was excellent by the way. Anyhow back to the story, now if you have ever been to Guangzhou you'll know its a very busy city, full of industry and not a place you would expect to find a large open zoo, but here it is. There were all the different kinds of animals you can imagine, Lions, Tigers, Hippos, Elephants, Camels, bears, Monkeys and Julia’s favourite Pandas, now they were the main reason for going, as I was in big trouble for not taking to see them in Beijing. The zoo actually had a very nice indoor enclosure for the pandas, there were 8 in total. Now that I was in the good books again, we had a lovely day looking at the animals and my own personal favourite was this little baby elephant, he was so cute. But not very skilled at catching the carrots people were trying to feed him, they kept bumping the poor guy on the head, and then he would search and turn around and around trying find where it went.We had to cut the trip short as Julia was being eaten alive by mosquito’s, so we made quick dash for the exit, to find some medicine.

Splish Splash Were Hav'in A Laugh

This weekend brought the sun out and boy was it hot, what better way to cool of than a dip in the old swimming pool, but with us being us this had to be taken up a gear, So were all went to the 'Big Hippo' water park in Guangzhou for some fun and games.
Flume tubes, water slides, scared Chinese folks as pasty white foreigners fly past them, this was all on offer. They have one of the highest slides I have ever seen, and once you see my mate who's 210lbs going down that you have seen everything, run for the hills.
We did the black hole tire ride which was great fun, pitch black sitting on an inflatable tyre, whizzing down, swinging left & right before being shot out and dropping top the pool below. Some of the rides had seen better days and a few of us ended up with scratch marks, but this was nothing compared to our ladies who got the shock of there lives, when there bikinis shoot into private places at 20mph ohhhhhhhh. Still after a few beers, yes beers too, all that pain is soon forgotten.
After being totally childish for almost 6 hours we headed off home for a quick change (and some of my spicy dumplings, (papa Rik's speciality) before going out that evening for our friend Selines leaving do.This was a great evening with BBQ food, cocktails and most importantly a free bottle of Whisky from our good friend, which Thomas and our duly polished off, well it would have been rude not too, surface to say everyone left feeling great ad woke up the next day feeling crap, the true signs of a good night out.
